Flag of Zimbabwe: meaning and colors

From 1927 to 1953, the flag’s cloth was blue, the English flag was stated in the left corner, and in the right – the coat of arms in the form of a greenish shield.

For 10 years, since 1953, South Rodezia was part of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland and had a flag on which a greenish shield was replaced by the coat of arms belonging to the unity of the South and Northern parts of Rhodesia and Nyasaland.

But in the first half of the 1960s of the XX century, the Federation broke up and Zimbabwe took independence. Return the past flag, just changed a dark blue background on blue.

In 1965 and 1979, the territory of the modern Republic of Zimbabwe was dwelling as part of the unrecognized country of Southern Rhodesia and had a personal special flag. The canvas was divided vertically into three stripes: the side was painted in greenish, and the central – white. The Arms Zimbabwe stirred in the center, folding from a huge number of parts.

A tightening civil war in the 2nd half of the 70s of the 20th century ended in that England and other countries recognized the independence of the Republic. Description

The symbol of Zimbabwe is a horizontally located rectangle with an aspect ratio of 1:2. The cloth, divided into seven equal bands, contains symmetrically repeated colors, in the harbor with this central part acts as an axis of symmetry. On the left side of the flag, there is an equilateral triangle, two faces of which are outlined by black narrow lines, and the top indicates the right. On the background of the triangle is an image of a bird on a pedestal. The fit statue is guessed by the form of a five-pointed red star.

The punishment for the inappropriate behavior is a fine, the size of which is not higher than 1000 bucks, or a conclusion in the colony for up to 2 years.
